Alastair Mooney received his BFA from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2009. His work reflects a powerful passion to create and communicate; using his practice as a tool to translate products of the imagination into physical manifestation. Mooney’s work spans a diverse variety of media, from ink on paper to sculpture on roof, yet it all shares a uniform handmade aesthetic and light-hearted quality with a focus on the hand and eye of the artist ever-present. His work instills a childlike enthusiasm and sense of wonder which he often combines with large scales, intricate textures and physical dimensionality to construct a window to the imagination.
